Review of Opinion Place Surveys
73What is Opinion Place Surveys?
Opinion Place Surveys is an online survey site owned by DMS Research, an AOL LLC Company. Incentives in the form of Paypal credits, Amazon.com gift certificates, AOL credits, and AAdvantage Miles are offered for participation in surveys. Anyone over the age of eighteen is eligible to join the site at anytime. Members have the potential to earn $5-$15 per month.
The Advantages
The advantages of being a member of Opinion Place Surveys outnumber the disadvantages. Periodical emails are sent out with special invitations to members that may fit the demographics for specific surveys. Before giving the option of continuing with the survey, there is a notice explaining the reward for qualifying and completing the survey and the approximate amount of time it should take to complete it. The surveys are typically no longer than fifteen to twenty minutes in length. Rewards for each survey are between $1-$5 for Paypal credits, AOL credits, and Amazon.com gift certificates. Opinion Place Surveys guarantees payment within three to four weeks and usually pays within two.
The Disadvantages
On the downside, even though there are email invitations sent out for special surveys, for access to regular surveys, members must log on to the site to fill out a prescreen survey in order to find available surveys. In addition, once members qualify for and complete a survey, they cannot qualify for another survey until a week has passed. If members do not qualify for surveys, they must wait for three days before trying again. However, these are the only negatives with Opinion Place Surveys.
My Experience
My experience with Opinion Place Surveys has been an enjoyable one. I joined the site in June 2009 and so far have made $14 for six surveys. Each survey was about fifteen to twenty minutes and two of them were special invitation. Altogether, I averaged about $2.33 for each survey, which comes to about $9.32 per hour of survey taking. Now, I did earn that amount over four weeks but each survey was easy to understand, easy to do, and related me. Since I only took surveys that I qualified for and they were about products and services that I actually use, I felt that my opinion was valuable to the research and well compensated. Out of all the survey companies that I am a member of, Opinion Place Surveys is on my top ten list of favorite survey sites.
Update 1/16/2010
From July 2009 until December 2009 I made a total of $55.50 with Opinion Place. I consider that to be pretty good. That only averages to about $11 per month but it adds up. My goal is to be able to set aside all of my survey earnings in a savings account and use it for a down payment on a car and the extra $10-$15 per month from Opinion Place will help out a great deal. Still gets a 4 out of 5 stars from me.

I joined Opinion Place a week ago and have taken 2 surveys, One last week and one this week. Both paid me 3 dollars each. I received the credit on my credit card in about 3 days. I wish I was able to find another site this good!
This site does make you do many surveys almost to completion and then says sorry you are not eligible. Although i have received money over the last few months it is not much and the average payout is decreasing, usually only $1.00 per survey now. Mypoints.com is a better use of your time. You get points for everything and plenty of free stuff when redeeming I have spent 15 mins working them sometime to then get to this situation of no credit. I recently completed one in its entiety and got mad so I send the ntoe below.
Here is recent email to them complaining. Jan from customer service is a joke . I have 6 responses back from this and they never address the issue.

I just went through a recent survey til its completion
It was on a survey for frequent flyer program. The value of the survey was $1.00 paypal credit, I go through the part that asked how I liked the survey (I chose very enjoyable) then the next scree said demographics were full. I think this is totally wrong do do the survey through completion and then not get the credit. Please credit my account the $1.00

Opinion place is a waste of time. My household consists of every possible demo and most surveys we still don't qualify...that is after answering a million questions first and after a year $2 between us. Don't wast your time.
I've never used Opinion Place. Maybe I will check into it. I've been doing surveys for pay since 2001 and know not to put all my eggs into one (or two, or three!) basket. I am opposed to time-sucking pre-screeners, but some companies makes it worth your while. Thanks for the hub. Up & useful.
I have been using Opinion Place for about 8 months. I knew I wouldn't be making real money, but I started to take one, and ended up with a $3 Amazon credit. I take all payments as Amazaon credits. Mostly, they are $1 credits, sometimes $3 and sometimes more. When I went to order Christmas gifts on Amazon, I had accumulated almost $15 in credit. So, even though it doesn't mean I made much money, I'll take it! Fifteen dollars is fifteen dollars! I figure I could have spent the time surfing the net for that amount of time, and received nothing in return. It's just surveys, and no one will get rich doing them!
Thanks for the useful information i am finding genuine survey after getting cheated from speak asia.
I took a survey on March 13, 2012 and have yet to receive the gift card claim numbers. Could someone please check on this for me? Thank you!

I've wasted too much time filling out long pages of "pre-qualifing" questions and then I am told that I don't qualify for the survey. So they make me fill out tons of information and then it turns out that I have totally wasted my time. Also, the surveys that I had filled out took more time than the typically 15 minutes they claim. I would say don't waste your time unless you have no life at all.
